Patents

The most patented name in wine storage.

STACT has spent more than a decade re-engineering how wine is stored and displayed — and protecting the ideas that moved the category forward. Today STACT holds more patents and registered designs than any other wine storage company in the world.

Invented, not styled.

The breakthrough began with the bottle support.

Wall-mounted wine storage had been getting progressively lighter. Traditional racks gave way to exposed wire supports, and eventually to minimalist pegs — cleaner, but still a bottle-by-bottle solution: two supports for every bottle, repeated across the wall.

STACT refined the support, then built something larger around it.

A proprietary track-and-panel architecture gave those supports a common structure. The peg became part of the system, rather than the system itself.

That distinction opened the door to much more than cork-out storage. The same architecture could evolve to support label-out display, shelving, stemware and expansion — different functions built into one modular system.

What started as a better bottle support had become a platform for wine storage.

That shift runs through STACT's patent portfolio: the relationship between mounting structure, panel and supports; the geometries developed for different bottle orientations; and the modular architecture that allows the system to expand and evolve.

Modularity wasn't added later. It was there from the beginning.

More than a look.

Utility patents protect functional inventions within the system. Design patents and registered designs protect the distinctive forms created around that engineering.

STACT holds both, across the United States, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Germany and China — granted utility patents, design patents, industrial designs and registered designs, with further applications pending.

Built for what comes next.

We didn't just patent the wine rack we made. We patented where we believed wine storage was going.

The first utility family established the modular architecture. A second extended it to label-out display, holding each bottle at an angle that presents the label while forcing it securely against the panel. STACT Pro proved that one architecture could carry multiple functions. STACT Premier turned that architecture into the finished architectural surface itself.

The five interchangeable panel formats — C-Type, L-Type, Shelf, Stemware and Expansion — are not a product-line extension. They are the original idea, fully realized.

Some of what STACT has protected isn't on the market yet. The portfolio was built not only around where wine storage has been, but around where we believe it is going.

Engineered once. Made endlessly adaptable.

The purpose of all that engineering isn't complexity. It's the opposite.

STACT gives architects, designers, builders and homeowners a resolved system they can configure around the architecture of the room — without reinventing the racking for every project.

The system is standardized. The result isn't.
